I'm pretty new to Wiis... so can someone tell me how to get it working on my wifi network?
If you have wireless internet in your home, it should be able to pick it up right away. I can't remember where exactly you're supposed to go in the menu and I can't check for you right now since I'm on campus. There's basically some menu you can go to (it's in the same area where you can name your Wii and all that stuff) that will show all the wireless networks in range and allow you to connect to one of them.
If you're still having trouble with it, I'll give you more detailed instructions when I get back from school. (also, I can't remember if you live outside the U.S. or if you're getting Brawl or not, but are you planning on entering the tourney?)
Well I want to be in the tournament but my paticipation depends on if I can figure out a way to get a high speed connection working at home before March. I live like 20 miles from any other human being so as you can imagine a DSL/cable connection isn't an option.
I might be able to just play it from work though.
Might as well try it out with your normal connection. Back when I had 56k, I could play some games with no lag at all and that may end up being the case for you. Give it a shot with your normal connection when you get Brawl and see how bad it is.
Either way, I'll add you in as a maybe. I think that brings us up to 24 people now. Man, if none of you sissies back out, we can have ourselves some pretty epic tourneys.
Link in SSB64 isn't the shit at all. He's just shit. Dude is a punching bag when it comes to combos and has slow movement/attack speed topped off with terrible recovery. I main Link in Melee and he is A LOT better. He's located pretty much right in the middle of the tier list, whereas in SSB64 he is ranked dead last.
Eh...he may be low tier, but characters were pretty balanced back then (the small roster helped). See what a good player can do with him against Pikachu, who's at the very top of the tier list (granted, this is the best SSB64 player in the world playing Link):
