Very good movie.

Pros:
+: Heath made a good Joker. The best movie Joker? Definitely. But I don't consider him the best, but maybe that's because I'm a fanboy for Mark Hamill's interpretation of Mr. J in TAS. He's not gonna win an oscar or some shit though. Too many people giving this movie #1 movie of all time just cause he died. It's sad that he died, but c'mon.
+: Two-Face. Very good. Very very good. Good job Eckhart.
+: Very well done.

Cons:
-Batman voice.
-Somehow the people across from me didn't get why Joker killed the clowns at the start if he didn't want money. Even though the Joker's prerogative was explained. People are dumb.
-No High Quality Watchmen trailer in my theater. Goddamnit.

Yeah so that's like, 2 fake cons, shuddup.

Very good movie. Great super hero movie (slightly better than Iron Man) for sure.

lived up to the hype did not disappoint great taste less filling

seriously though I did not want to pee it was that good I was like fuck there's still stuff going on we really need intermissions in movies nowadays, or like a 5-minute scene where Christian Bale is picking his nose or Joker is sharpening pencils

yeah I guess it was kind of disappointing the Joker went down so easy but I just figured he wouldn't put up much of a fight, he was more about outsmarting people

and yes this felt more like a Christopher Nolan film than a Batman one if that makes sense, there was this whole mindfuck sort of atmosphere that reminded me a lot of Memento - I thought the bank robbery at the beginning was going to just be ordinary scene of villainy in order to make supervillainy look even more super by comparison but then I was like what the fuck by the end of that scene

and yeah Two-Face was good but they did the coin thing way too much it was like super-foreshadowing. Also I thought he'd do a lot more once he got evil he basically just got the power to be an ass and use gun (oh yeah and flip cars dramatically) although I like how the villains in Nolan's movies have like minimal supervillain regalia about them joker could possibly be a clown and oh yeah he has scars and Scarecrow just had this bag over his head, but like I like how with that there's a moment where he becomes Two-face and you just know he's in villain mode without any real need for there to be a costume at all but it helps

Yeah man I actually had to piss as soon as Aaron Eckhart showed up, and I waited until the end of the movie because I didn't want to miss anything! I probably broke my liver!

So TDK broke 300 million this weekend. Not really a surprise but that's insanely fast. It's on track to make 400 million domestic which is insane. I thought it'd be big but not this big.

Glad it's a really good movie that'll most likely be the biggest (or second biggest, there's still an HP movie this year, but I like HP movies anyways) film this year.

Cons:
-Batman voice.

I like Bale's Bat-Voice, but his dialogue really fagged it up. Like with a voice like that, you keep it simple or something. Not go on about some damn dawn before the light or whatever he started huffing about.

I really wanted to love this... I really tried.. I guess I just don't like Nolan's approach to batman (regardless of it being faithful to the source, which I never cared about). Just some random thoughts:
- It's a very good movie, Batman Begins good. Maybe a bit better, it's hard to tell... Like 7-8/10 good
- It's not the best thing ever, not the best movie I've seen this year, and not the best batman either, I prefer Tim Burton's movies (though I haven't seen them in a long time and it could be just nostalgia)
- The movie is too long, to the point of boring. It's especially boring in the first hour.
- Ledger was pretty good, Bale was horrible.
- Could be nostalgia again but I think I liked Jack Nicholson's version more.
- The movie was all over the place, too much stuff happened and I really felt you could cut out a large portion of the film without sacrificing anything important
- I miss the dark Gotham. Daylight is boring...
- The ending sucked, the events leading to it were cool though
- Convoluted plans where people pretend to be dead and the other side pretends to be arrested and everyone thought of everything are lame
- Sonar sucks
- Music rocks
- I liked Alfred role more in Begins
- Twoface was cool, I was afraid it'd end up having too many villains to focus on but they handled it nicely
- I just wasn't impressed... I wish people wouldn't hype these movies so much, or say stuff like (I thought it'd be overrated but it does live to the hype!!)... I can't think of anything that lived up to that much hype

I don't know. I probably need to see it again. I thought Batman Begins was overrated too... maybe something is wrong with me... I want to love them but Nolan movies really bore me (The Prestige was boring too but it had better pacing and story... and a )

Yeah I thought the whole sonar thing was just to throw some half-assed political message in there, I read a review and can't believe someone thought that was clever - I liked Joker's line better about people being more tolerant of death as long as it's part of a plan - kind of ironic that Ledger said it, I mean it's sad that he died and all but it's kind of like saying wait you're an actor actors aren't supposed to die this warrants attention for some reason - I'd like to think he'd be like alright stop making such a big deal about my death worry about soldiers and people who die in disasters and all that

Spoiler Alert: Some of what I say below can spoil your "Dark Knight" viewing if you haven't already seen it[/color]

Though I know a lot of you have your own thoughts on this movie I thought I would share my own little mindless review...

Before anyone else says I LIKED THE BURTON BATMANS BETTER let me remind you that Batman Returns is a steaming pile of shit and I honestly have no idea how people can say they like that movie.  It's funny how everybody credits Joel Schumacher with ruining the franchise when Tim Burton ruined it first with Returns.  I'm pretty sure that everybody just saw it when they were 6 - 10 years old and haven't seen it since so they're still convinced that it could pass for a well-made movie.

It's been a while since I've seen Batman but I do remember scenes with The Joker dancing to Prince so yeah.

RPG, don't spoil movies for other people.

"yea warn me i think if you haven't seen all the movies i just listed you shouldn't be in the film forum"

This is a dumb reason because it's in a DARK KNIGHT topic, which everyone has seen and which everyone will probably want to come post in. That doesn't make it excusable if it were in a There Will Be Blood or Richard Linklater topic either but there are still a lot of people who have not seen stuff like The Usual Suspects and it's lame to spoil it for them, saying that they should know it or not be here (I love Usual Suspects)

I dunno, can someone do some aisle cleanup and put in some spoiler tags =( I'm very passionate about my spoiler tags

RPG I always knew you were a jackass but you've gone way too far.

I'm curious, does anyone have any written reviews or shit from little scared to death kids? I've been hearing a lot of shit about this movie being too much for children and I just want to hear this from a different perspective... out of curiousity.

My friend took his kids to see it. (one was 7 and one was 12)

The 7 year old was scared the whole time, and the 12 year old Held his hands over his eyes only peeking occasionally.

Actually, I just watched it not that long ago. I'm definately not saying it was the best Batman movie, but it at least took a unique direction with the Batman franchise. The art direction and music was way above par for me, but the story just really sucked. It at least followed the basic plot structure of like... every movie ever, which I can't say about The Dark Knight.

I mean, don't get  me wrong The Dark Knight was better than Batman Returns, but Batman Returns was way better than Forever or Batman and Robin.
